Banking

Many of us feel overwhelmed by the huge conglomeration of companies, products and services that is banking.  This can translate into our business dealings as well.  It is important to know that we do have options.  And yes, we even have local options!

One option to look into is called the Citizen's Bank of Canada.  Vancouver based, but serving all of Canada, they have made a committment to responsible business practices in terms of:  Healthy Lifestyles, Environmental Leadership, Respect and Fair Treatment, Ethical Business Practices and Peaceful Communities.  More information is available at the contact information in the "Where to Buy" section below.

Local options include Credit Unions.  These are safe, non-profit places to keep your money that invest directly in the communities in which they operate.  They are happy to serve businesses as well as individuals, and have a long-standing historical relationship with all communities in which they are involved.  More information on this important history, along with information on finding a local credit union is available on the umbrella organization web site called Ontario Credit Unions in the Links section below.  You can also look up Credit Unions in the yellow pages-they are all listed there.

This web site in no way wishes to tell you what to do with your money or your business' money.  These are options for you to research thoroughly in making a decision that is comfortable for you.
