Putting paper in your blue box is just one step in the recycling process. In order to actually recycle items, we need to then buy the products that are made from the items that go into the blue box. Paper that is made from blue box paper is called "post consumer" recycled paper. Often you will see a percentage of post consumer recycled paper, which means that only some of that paper is recycled, while the rest is made from freshly cut trees. However, 100% post consumer recycled paper is becoming more popular, and easier to find in stores.
The stores listed here carry funky notebooks that can be used for many things. Look for "100% post consumer recycled" on the labels. Some notebooks are now being made which even have covers made of post consumer recycled materials-like car tires and box board. They are available here, and they definitely complete the recycling process!
