Egg Cartons

Clean egg cartons are welcomed by many farmers’ market vendors and some independent grocery stores, health food stores and day care centres. Most of the egg cartons now on the market are made of molded pulp; they are recyclable at your recycling depot or mixed with the cardboard and boxboard you put out at the curb for recycling. Finally, if you tear these pulp-type egg cartons into tiny pieces they can be composted.

Styrofoam (polystyrene) egg cartons are now accepted in the City's new Two-Stream recycling system. They should be placed in the Containers box. Styrofoam egg cartons can also be dropped off for recycling at the Materials Recycling Facility at 390 Pido Road in the City.
