Joining an organized barter network is a good way to find a home for used items you no longer need, as well as pick up things you want at bargain prices.

The Peterborough LETS Exchange at 749-3910, is one of the largest and most successful organizations of its kind in Ontario. A non-profit system administered by volunteers, it costs as little as $15 to $35 a year for individuals to join ($35-$100 for commercial). Its monthly newsletter lists hundreds of goods and services. Peterborough Green-Up has been one of its sponsors since it was launched in 1994.
