Aerosol Cans

Hair sprays, insect sprays, spray cleaners, air fresheners, and spray paint are examples of products that are sometimes contained in aerosol cans.

Aerosols with product remaining in them are considered hazardous waste and can be dropped off at the Peterborough County/City Household Hazardous Waste Depot, 400 Pido Road off Neal Drive. Open Wed-Sat 8-4 all year.

Aerosols that are empty can be recycled in the Blue Box Program within the City of Peterborough only. County residents must recycle empty aerosol cans by bringing them to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot.
