Accordingly, we remind everyone to use common sense when dealing with offers resulting from classified ads.
For example, if a potential buyer offers to purchase your item but only if you first exchange a large amount of cash through your bank account, this is an attempt at fraud.
If you suspect fraud or if you have been a victim of fraud, you should immediately contact your local police department to report the crime. We suggest you retain all emails you received relating to the fraud or attempted fraud to provide to the police upon request.
As per our Classifieds Policy, Peterborough Reuses is not liable for any dispute or disagreement related to ads posted on this web site. This includes any situation where someone has been defrauded.
We encourage both sellers and buyers to use caution and common sense when posting or responding to ads. As with anything else, if an offer sounds too good to be true, you should approach it with extreme skepticism.
Intended Use
We are providing this classified ad system as a free service for residents of the City and County of Peterborough who wish to dispose of, or are looking for, used items such as clothing, furniture, appliances, computers, etc.
Price Limit
The maximum price of items for sale is limited to $100. Regular ads that exceed the allowable price may be removed at our discretion, without prior notice to the ad owner.
Commercial Ads
Although selling of goods is allowed, commercial ads, ads for businesses selling goods and/or services and "spam" are not allowed in this classified ad system. For example, ads such as lessons, home childcare, rental properties, handicraft and repair businesses are not permitted. These types of ads may be removed at our discretion, without prior notice of the ad owner.
Offensive or Inappropriate Content
We reserve the right to edit or delete ads for offensive or inappropriate content, without prior notice to the ad owner. The sale/trade of animals is not permitted on this site!
Unconfirmed Ads
Ads that have not been confirmed for posting by the ad owner within 48 hours will be automatically deleted from this classified ad system without prior notice.
Your Privacy
We require that you provide us with your email address to use this classified ad system. We will not share, rent, sell or otherwise communicate your email address (or any personal information you provide) to any third party. The only exception to this policy would be in a situation where law-enforcement agencies request this information for legal reasons. Your email address will not be displayed publicly on this site.
Neither Peterborough Green-Up, the City of Peterborough nor the County of Peterborough will be held responsible for the content or accuracy of any classified ad posted in this classified ad system, and will not become involved in any disputes or disagreements regarding any ad posted in this system.
